Camo & Denim: a classic pairing

Hello spring & happy Monday. Not only is it the first day of spring y'all, but it is also International Day of Happiness. Woot, woot! Knowing this instantly makes my day better. For starters, I'm going to start wearing bright colors, then later I'm going to dedicate 20 minutes of my day for doing something that brings me joy. How are you going to celebrate International Day of Happiness?

I definitely have a thing for camo this spring. It’s a great way for me to add a "little edge" to my typically preppy and classic style. Also, if J. Crew supports this trend then it must be good. Since camo would typically be something outside of my comfort zone I paired it with some closet staples that always make me feel good. Since I do live in New England and although it is unseasonably warm lately, I didn’t opt for my usual converse slip-on’s, but instead paired with OTK boots for added warmth. However; paired with some chic ballet flats instantly brings this outfit into spring without having to purchase any new pieces.

I love the way this look came together, just by pairing my favorite neutrals together. For starters, I am obsessed with this long sleeve layering tee from Nordstrom. It’s literally a go-to. I especially love how long it is in the back. If you have been following me for long, then you know I literally my denim jackets part of my closet all year long. Whether paired with shorts in the summer or a thick sweater in the winter, it is an ESSENTIAL piece for me. Lastly, all the accessories: sunnies and layering necklace were such amazing steals! The BP. Section in Nordstrom has literally stolen my heart lately. It allows me to pick up some trendy pieces for great prices with free shipping. I haven’t been able to find my exact necklace, probably because it was only $3 from forever 21, however; I did link a more expensive but classic option.

Like fun accessories, since camo is a fairly new trend for me, I bargain shop. As previously mentioned, when I won’t typically rock this item as part of my work wardrobe I try not to spend more than $25 on the item. This also helps to curb any buyer’s remorse since it’s basically equivalent to 5 large coffees. My Starbucks addiction is real y’all. On the other hand, I have been seeing camo styled for work in some chic ways, when paired with classic nude pumps, who knows, maybe come spring I’ll have to give it a try. Definitely let me know if the comments if this is something you would be interested in seeing!
