How to Style Red Hunter Rain Boots + Q&A

In honor of #tbt (Throw back Thursday) I wanted to share a post from Instagram a few weeks ago and also finally share my Q&A post. It's taken me so long to write this post because I've gotten SO many questions... Just kidding! I hardly got any so today I'm sharing all the ones my friends asked (thanks for being so supportive) or questions I frequently get asked from people in general, like "Who takes all your photos?" and "Do you really get up at 5am to take all these photos and post?" Continue reading to find out all my secrets!

#1 Who does your hair?
I do my own hair on a daily basis but the real credit goes to my fabulous hair dresser who does an amazing job with the cut and highlights. I actually only go two or three times a year to get my hair cut and highlighted. No joke, She's that good. Although, I'm definitely in need of a hair cut and highlight now!

Updated 2021: Since this post when live, I've had hand-tied hair extensions, gone for highlights, root touches, etc. and have gone back to my roots, literally. I now ask my hairdresser to only tone my hair to keep it from getting brassy. I am currently letting my highlights grow out and embrace my natural hair color.

#2 What do you use to curl your hair?
Disclaimer: this is not a paid add, these are my own thoughts. I use this exact Curling Wand. I am OBSESSED with it. It was only $30 and works wonders. I can curl my entire head in under 15 minutes and the best part is the curls last all day. This used to never be the case. I would spend almost an hour curling my hair (just the bottoms even) only to have them all fall out by lunch time. Anyone else have this happen? I promise with the Bead Head Curling Wand you will not be disappointed.

Updated 2021: I still curl my own hair; however, I use two new wands and irons! Currently, I alternate between this exact curling wand for a really relaxed beachy- wave vibe and this exact curling wand. The curling wand is definitely a splurge but worth every penny. My curls will seriously last days, so it means less heat exposure for my hair. I love the wand for evenings out or blog shoot days- pro: it's way more affordable, con: the curls don't last nearly as long.

#3 Who takes your photos?
My sweet boyfriend takes all my photos. Yes, I said all of them. One day my cousin shared this hilarious "Husband's of Instagram" video that had us rolling with laughter because of the reality the video captures. Although, I like to think I'm not that bad... Don't we all. But the message here ladies: find someone who loves and supports you. My boyfriend is one of my biggest supporters and motivators, I am so grateful for him.

Updated 2021: My now husband is still taking all my photos. He is still my number #1 supporter and this blog wouldn't even be here it wasn't for him pushing me to start. Photo days are our adventure days. We use it to explore new locations and make an outing of it.

#4 Where do you buy your flowers?
As part of my grocery budget I always include $5-8 for fresh blooms. After all they are an instant mood booster. I miss living close to a Whole Foods because they always have the most stunning blooms, for under $10. But luckily Stop and Shop does okay in this department. I have found that it's more about taking the time to look through the bouquets to find the perfect one that sings to your heart. I also always cut the stems super short so they make the masons jar appear more full.

Updated 2021: I am still a huge flower fan. I am always on the hunt for cute flowers. My favorites are from a local florist, but I still add them to the grocery haul and cut the stems short to make them look fuller. Fresh flowers are a huge mood booster for me.

#5 What made you start blogging? And do you feel the same way now as you did when you started it?
Ah... What a great question! I have wanted to start a blog for a little over a year now but always found a reason or excuse not too. It wasn't until Christmas when I finally had no more excuses because my boyfriend bought me an amazing camera and blogging for dummies book (no joke, although LOLing is appropriate and encouraged). As you can tell I instantly jumped on the opportunity, seeing as I started my blog in January. I have always loved fashion and put a lot of thought into my outfits because I truly enjoy it. I always love trying new trends, except the ones I don't like. My friends will be the first to tell you I may be wishy-washy sometimes but I definitely know what I don't like and what styles don't work for me. As I approach my third month of blogging I am actually even happier than when I started! I will be the first to admit that it can be super frustrating if my blog traffic is low on a certain post I am excited about. But exeperinecing slow days really makes me appreciate high traffic days and when people comment on my blog in my day to day life. And I am instantly reminded of how much fun I have doing this, plus I am learning so much and making new friends along the way!

and... my most asked question:
#6 Do you really wake up every day at 5 in the morning to take photos before work?
I am so happy that my blog appears this way, as I wear the outfits I post to work on the corresponding days. However; due to the unpredictable weather I take multiple outfit shoots in one day (usually on the weekends or after work). I tend to be very detail oriented so having my outfits planned out ahead of time for the week saves me from wasting an hour in the morning standing in my closest saying "I have nothing to wear!"

Alright lovelies, that's all for today. If I didn't answer any questions you still have be sure to email or DM (on Instagram) so I can answer them in my next Q&A post.

XO, Lo
