Wedding Wednesday: The Bridal Shower

Today’s post is about to get personal… so get ready!

The previous weekend was seriously the BEST. I’m not even exaggerating, a few others come to mine in comparison: getting engaged, some fabulous birthdays, traveling abroad etc. but this weekend was definitely one for the books. So… you’re probably wondering “What happened?” Last Saturday, my lovely bridesmaids and beautiful mama threw me the most gorgeous surprise bridal shower. I say surprise because although I knew the date and location I knew NOTHING about the details and the day was absolutely perfect. So, for today I’m dishing all the details about what made this day SO great.

the jumpsuit you need

I first started blogging as a way to channel my inner love of fashion. I was so nervous at first I couldn’t even tell my friends and family. And NOW… I’m on the target website, someone pinch me, SERIOUSLY. Is this real life?! I’m on a clothing website, sharing something I love because of all of YOU! So let me start today’s post by saying thank you for all the endless support & encouragement y’all provide that help motivate me and make Roses and Rain Boots a success!

Must-have Summer Outfit on a Budget & a Wedding Wednesday Update

This outfit was a staple of mine this summer, especially during our vacation to Ogunquit, Maine. For starters, it doesn’t take up a lot of room in my suitcase and both the tank and shorts can be paired with different pieces to create new outfits. Currently, my exact tank is on sale for only $12 in all colors! These tanks are perfect for layering with a cardigan and skirt for work. Now is the perfect time to stock up for fall. Speaking off fall, pictured is my new favorite nail polish color: Swept off my feet. It is the perfect shade of red meets burgundy. *Also on sale are my shorts and a similar pair of TB sandals all linked below!

Happy Shopping!!

Tips for creating professional and fashionable looks for Work

Work doesn't have to mean boring. I love fashion because it's a way of expressing myself and my creativity. I love finding great closet staples, like this skirt from Loft, that easily makes a statement. Some of my quick and easy tips for keeping my outfits professional are:
First, put outfits together that match- I love colorful outfits and matching helps to keep the outfit looking put together.
Secondly, keep it modest. Being tall, it can be a challenge to find skirts or dresses that are long enough, so I am conscious to keep my shirts modest. To keep this outfit modest pair it with a denim jacket or black cardigan.
