how to style a white button-down & memorial day weekend sales

Just yesterday, B & I were asked to meet some family for brunch in just 30 minutes and it takes 15 to get to the location. Immediately, my thoughts were: What do I wear?? Followed by, I have nothing to wear. Obviously that's not true. However; sometimes my judgment gets so clouded from trying so hard to be a "blogger" that I can't just pick an outfit. That's why I have a staple. A go-to outfit that I know I can rely on.
Today on the blog, I'm sharing my classic look & the best of Memorial day weekend sales!

chambray & the Royal Wedding recap

Welcome back! Did you wake up early over the weekend to watch #theroyalwedding? Obviously, I had too! One of the lovely ladies in my book club hosted a royal wedding viewing party. To attend you had to wear your best or fanciest pajamas. Throughout the morning we all got to brunch on: tea, biscuits with jam, and many other tasty treats!

Book Reviews 2018- part three

This post is long overdue and I apologize for the delay. I have been lacking in motivation, as well as struggling for inspiration and even just the right words to get blog posts done. Although, I worry they haven't been missed. However; with that being said, I've missed blogging. I love being able to share my sense of fashion, my love of books and more with y'all. So as always, thank YOU for following along!

paperbag pants round #2

I hope everyone had a lovely weekend and were able to spoil their mother. And for those of you who were unable to celebrate with your mother, I hope you were able to celebrate another special woman in your life.  This year my mom wanted to do Mother's Day a little differently and instead of a traditionally small dinner we got together with her sister's extended family. As a gift for my mother, we tried to share some of the prep work and provide some of the dishes to be shared. Additionally, my mother and I both hate to grocery shop, so over the weekend I endured the hour long trip to grocery shop with her.

5 simple & easy steps to support your friend who BLOGS

So your friend has a blog, now what?!

If you are reading this then OBVIOUSLY, you  know I have a blog. And many of my friends feel the same way. "Yes, Lauren, we know you have a blog, but now what..." I am constantly worrying about 'over posting' or bothering my friends so I figured I would help everyone out by writing this post.

It wasn't until about two weeks into blogging when some friends I met through my fiancĂ© (now husband) brought up my blog. It was one of my first times talking about it in a social setting and these girls made my day. For starters they said, "We love your blog. Now tell us how do you shoot all those photos?" This was my first encounter breaking the news that NO I do not and never will wake up extra early to take blog photos in the morning at 5am before work. I save photo shoots for the weekend. Then I was able to ask the question "Am I posting TOO much on Instagram?!" This is when I was pleasantly surprised when they said "No, not enough!" This. Seriously. Made. My. Day. It gave me the confidence and encouragement I needed to consistently post and promote my blog. Thanks ladies for this advice you helped me more than you may have realized. Now who knows if they still feel this way, but these comments mean more to your blogger  friends then you realize, so let's get to it.

perseverance and endurance: The Book of Romans

One of the things I have come into as an adult is really understanding and appreciating my faith. For starters, God brought B and I together. Additionally, it has helped me find new friends who share similar beliefs. Over the weekend, one of my dear friends invited me to participate in a weekend session focused around: Discipleship. This was my first experience participating in any sort of in-person church session and I am so grateful for the experience. I loved meeting & hearing from people who also share my love and passion for pursuing and living a life for the Lord. I can't wait for the next one!
