What you need to know for planning a date night outfit

Recently I was asked by a few close friends to do a date night post and because I love my friends and more importantly appreciate their support I am sharing my first  how-to plan a date night outfit.

As I have mentioned before my boyfriend and I try and make it a point to have a date night at least once a week! We also go on a date without our phones (he doesn't have as much of a problem with this), but ever since starting a blog, naturally I have been on my phone more updating and connecting. As much as I LOVE my blog I need to remind myself to take breaks during the day and week, especially on date nights and focus on spending some quality time with the people I love.

Because we go on weekly date nights I'm all about using what I already have in my closet to create new outfits. I LOVE the look of a good fitted jacket for a fun spring date. I especially like this faux leather jacket because it gives the outfit such a chic and edgy feel. Another pro about this look is that it can easily be transitioned from Casual Friday at work to date night, simply by removing the jacket or changing your shoes from flats to heels.

A good pair of statement earrings are also an instant way to make any outfit feel more fabulous. These earrings, which have been on repeat lately and are on a MAJOR sale right now! They are marked down from $52 (don't know who would pay full price) to $9.99. Remember when I told you they had two be-jeweled circles this is what the original looks like. I also always wear my Hudson jeans when going on a more casual date night because I love the way they look on me and therefore, I am naturally more confident. Wear something that makes you feel awesome and the rest will come.

Typically I am a very modest dresser, even when it comes to date nights or going out. However; I do step out of my comfort zone every once in a while by picking one trend to try: deep v, short skirt, open back or bandeau top. For example, I would never pair a deep v-neck shirt with a skirt, SO many people can pull this off, I just don't feel comfortable with it. That's definitely the most important part of today's post you need to wear something you feel 100% comfortable in! This is key, there are so many trends that I don't feel comfortable in so I know in the end they won't look natural they will look forced. It's so important that you stay true to yourself, especially when dating! Like my girl Daya says "But I'd rather find a boy who is down for the chase." Life is about being you and going after what makes you happy.

Current Music Obsession: Hideaway... thank you Daya! This song is just so catchy I find myself listening to it on repeat on the way into work. It's a great song to kind of pump you up for the day and leave you feeling happy. This song is also super fitting since the theme of the post is being date night ready and how many of us ask ourselves "where do the good boys go?!" when we were/are dating!
I also am a HUGE fan of music so I wanted to add this little addition to my daily posts. I can't wait to hear what y'all think?!

What did you do this weekend? Did you go on any fun dates? This past Saturday we had a date night-in and went old school with pizza, popcorn, candy and a movie. Nothing better than some quality time with your hunnie <3

  4. This is a completely perfect for a date night!!! Your legs look miles long, and that top is HOT. "Typically I am a very modest dresser, even when it comes to date nights or going out." Stacy London always says, "why buy the loaf when the slices are free?" I love that this look is modest and yet uber sexy. Hugs, Kait
