My 2017 New Year's Resolutions

Hellooo 2017 and welcome! I am confident that this is going to be the best year yet. Why, are you wondering?! Well, for starters I am getting married!! I know y'all must be sick of hearing me talk about it, but I truly cannot imagine anything more wonderful than marrying my best friend. Every day I am reminded just how lucky I am.

Speaking of feeling lucky, I wanted to share my New Year's Resolutions with y'all since they are centered around feelings of happiness and luck. For me, New Year's Resolutions force me to stop and reflect and create goals for myself for the upcoming year. The biggest challenge, as we all know is maintaining them, so for this year I am trying something different.

I know they say, you aren't supposed to talk about politics and religion but this was important to me and I wanted to share it with y'all. My biggest New Year's Resolution is to be more content and happier with my life by being more in touch with myself and my beliefs. One of the best Christmas gifts I received was the gift of read, Uninvited. This book is truly grounding and also up-lifting. It stands out to me because it talks about the hard stuff, that everyone experiences but doesn't necessarily post about on social media. Uninvited talks about the ups and downs and what to do in between them by finding peace with God. I like to think of myself as a generally happy and positive person but even I can always improve. Self-reflection is really important to me and this book has helped me form my resolution to maintain a more positive mindset by turning to my beliefs to help me find peace and comfort during the hard times.

Additionally,  I like many of us, have made some other New Year's Resolutions like to: read more (coming to the blog soon, a year in review of my top 12 favorite books), work out more, blog more regularly, etc. So if you're interested in hearing more about these and how I intend to keep them, comment below.

As always thanks for stopping in!
xx, LO

  1. Congrats on getting married too! I am getting married in March. Eek! This will be a big year for us. Love your outfit. I have the same goals as you too, as far as working out (especially for the wedding), reading and blogging...I definitely agree about self-reflection and cultivating a positive mindset, it will carry you in all ways throughout life :)
