Book Reviews 2018- Part two

Why, hello there. Let me just start this post by sharing excited I am about how popular this series of posts has been with y'all!! I love reading and trying new things. I also am really dedicated to the reading process, so once I commit and start a book I have to read it until the very end. Because I'm so determined to finish the book I am often very selective when choosing books since I try to ensure each selection is a text that I'm actually going to enjoy. Are you a book finisher OR do you abandon a book when you don't like it??

Since my first post in the series, I've just loved receiving comments and recommendations about books to read totally fills my bucket. Additionally, I love bumping into friends and family who have read books because of my review. So in honor of this series of posts & wanting to connect with y'all: I will be sharing any pictures on my Instagram stories that YOU post sharing a book recommendation for me OR you trying a book for my monthly review!
I can' wait to see what you are reading or if you like any of the books I'm sharing.

xx always,

Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me?
Let me be the first to say I LOVE reading Mindy's books. I literally laughed out loud when she talked about my real world struggle of wondering: why does it take men SO long to put their shoes on. However; with that being said, I don't think you need to read both. I think Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me and Why Not Me were very similar in content, but both equally hilarious. Pick up one of her books for a light-hearted and entertaining quick read.

The Wife Between Us
This book is another physiological thriller that is quickly climbing the best seller list and for good reason. I LOVED this book because I didn't see the ending coming! I actually had to use my good reading strategies (#nerd) to look back and reread parts.

The Marriage Lie
This was by far my most loved book from the month of February. From the first chapter, I was hooked. The author does a great job really developing the characters and painting a clear picture of their life and reveals the plot right away. Although the book doesn't blind side you, the author carefully reveals important clues to the plot throughout the story and still leaves you wanting more in the end!

The Woman in the Window
Recently, we started a book club at work and it has been one of the best things! Not only does it hold me accountable for reading new literature, it also builds a stronger sense of community within the work world. It's nice because although we have teaching in common, we really use it as an opportunity to discuss other things that make us happy. With that being said this book was definitely amongst mixed reviews. Some of my coworkers loved the book. Another coworker and I couldn't wait until it was over, and then there were the few who said it just took them a while to get into. What I can tell you is this: Throughout the entire book I felt as if I was having deja vu with The Girl on the Train book and at over 400 pages I was hoping to be more engaged than I was.

When
For those of you who are looking for more 'intelletually' stimulating books (imaging I'm saying that with a posh accent) this is the book for you! Since beginning this book, I have been frequently offering members of my family my unsolicited advice on how they can better manage their productivity. Additionally, since I need to dedicate time for work, the blog, reading, spending time with family, etc. I really have to know how to manage my time in a way that allows helps me become more efficient. Because I am a morning person, taking a brief afternoon break, meaning a work-free lunch as an opportunity to discuss things not related to work, to truly get a break... has been life changing! I really wish I could find a way to incorporate the nap-achino into my daily routines... guess you'll have to read the book to find out what I mean.

  1. Enjoyed the book "The Wife Between Us" Was lucky enough to attend an authors luncheon with the two women who wrote the book. They were very entertaining and interesting to listen to. They wrote it all together instead of switching off chapters like many authors do even though they lived a distance apart. Our book club had it as a read for February and everyone seemed to like it!
