How to plan a 30th Birthday celebration- Covid / Quarantine Style

I was so excited to turn 30 at the beginning of the year. 30 felt like one of those mile stones I was waiting for. I was excited for all that 2020 had in store. B and I had some trips planned, we were house-hunting, and I thought I would get to see all my favorite people in one place for a party.

As we all know, 2020 turned out very different from what I had originally hoped. And obviously I'm just grateful for my health, my family's health.

And while turning 30 wasn't what I had expected, it was even better. I have to give a major shout-out to my hubby and mom who made turning 30 Covid style the best birthday a girl could ask for!

The Day.
To start the day, we had a very small family brunch. And while it was a brunch at home and couldn't be with my entire family, having my favorite foods on fancy plates and lots of decor made it feel extra special.  I think sometimes we overlook at how special decor can make an experience. This balloon garland totally blew my mind away. It was so gorgeous, I brought it home to hang in my office for the time being.

Afterwards, B and my parents found one of my favorite activities as a to-go option! We go an afternoon tea set up and brought it back to their house for a safe and relaxing experience. The tea and food were just as scrumptious as one could hope.

Then, the day ended with a surprise dining experience. B and my mom planned a trip to the Ocean House in Rhode Island. Where the four of us, enjoyed the intimate dining experience in the gondola, also know as the Fondue Village.

While at dinner, we also got to enjoy a beautiful sunset!
The Fondue Village was the perfect dining experience for us, because while "indoors" it's only your party in the gondola and they plan 30 minutes in-between each seating to ensure proper sanitization, so we felt 100% safe the entire time.

Honestly, it was a total dream.

The outfit.
I always think back to that graduation episode in Laguna Beach, when Lo is getting ready for graduation and her mom says "it's not a fashion show." To which Lo responds, "everyday is a fashion show, mom." I completely embrace that philosophy. You only turn 30 once and I didn't want Covid to stop me from celebrating in my own way. As a result, I scooped up a dream outfit for my 30th from one of my favorite stores, Anthropologie.

Pro tip, if you sign up for the free Anthropologie perks program, you get a 20% off coupon for your birthday, a great way to get a fun outfit on sale! While a total splurge, the sweater is one I've already styled with jeans around the house and the skirt is something fun I plan to wear this holiday season.
