an open letter to my Style Icon: Lauren Conrad

Originally I wanted to title this post "Team LC and Laguna Beach forever because if you are in your 20's then you probably spent most of your high school career living by phrases like this. And it was also that "reality" TV show that introduced us to the girl next door and future style icon and now a New York Times Best Selling Author: Lauren Conrad. And in case you missed it on one of my social media accounts I had the opportunity to meet Lauren Conrad last night at the book signing of her newest book: Celebrate. Today I am talking all about my experience meeting her at R.J. Julia Booksellers and oh, the major dilemma you experience when deciding what to wear when meeting a style icon who has 4.8 million followers on Instagram.

Style Inspiration & Red Pants

I'm super excited about this outfit because I was completely inspired by a lovely lady at Church this past Sunday. She is always dressed in such chic and polished outfits plus, her hair is perfect, oh and did I mention she has two little kids! I seriously hope when I have a family I can get them all put together, let alone myself.

Easter Sunday Reflections

Did you know that the Bible states “Do not be afraid” 365 times?! This is a daily reminder to live life FEARLESSLY. So today I am doing two things I’ve been fearful about posting on the blog: My beliefs (religion included), family and don’t worry fashion will of course be included!

What to wear for Easter Brunch

Happy Good Friday everyone! Today's post is all about Easter brunch with the family.

I am actually an extremely family-oriented person. And so is my boyfriend, which makes it super great on Friday nights when we go to my parents for dinner or on Sunday's when the whole family gathers for some random celebration, basically an excuse to get the gang together. But I LOVE it. I look forward to these events because I truly enjoy spending time with my family. I am so lucky to have such wonderful and supportive people in my life. I am blessed. I am also blessed for another reason, my boyfriend's family is equally as amazing! My only complaint is that I wish they lived closer. But luckily we are about to spend the long weekend with them and we get to meet his new niece- I am so excited.

BEST DESIGNER LOOK- A- LIKES

I am SO excited about today's post because people often wonder how I afford all my clothes and I can tell you I live on a very tight budget and do lot's of research before making a purchase. For today's post I've done all the hard work and brought to you my favorite and best designer dupes. My number one rule: do not go designer for a trend! Save the $ for classic items like a good pair of jeans, classic flats and a classic tote

Workout Wednesday

So as most of you know from reading this blog I gave up two things for Lent: Shopping and the elevator. I like challenges so I figured these two would be perfect for it. Not shopping challenges me to appreciate the things I already own in my closet. And the second, no elevator, helps motivate me to continue to live a healthy lifestyle. And what I have concluded is I enjoy working out more when in cute clothes, can I get an "amen?!"

Stripes + Floral Print = Pattern Mixing

I can't believe we had snow yesterday! Just the other day it was 60 degrees, but like I said yesterday that is spring in New England for ya. As a result, vests, booties and pattern mixing are on my fashion forecast.

Spring Essentials

If you're anything like me, then it's always a struggle to decide what trends to try or what new pieces to add to your wardrobe for spring. In order to help me stay focused I pick a color theme and I think it's safe to say I've chosen green and blue hues. I'm definitely a pink girl but something about these bright blue and green hues having me in love #swoon.

Stripes and the new "IT" vest

So if you live in CT then you definitely need to make your way over to Grace boutique! As soon as I walked into Grace I knew I had to have this vest. I didn't have a clue how I was going to style it but I knew I wanted it. It's been hanging in my closet for a few weeks now and I am so excited with its reveal today! It's the perfect vest for transitioning into Spring.

a St. Patrick's Day outfit

Everyone is Irish on St. Patrick's Day, but when you are Irish you are really Irish on St. Patrick's Day (If you are Irish then you will know what I mean). Today's post is all about what to wear and how to appropriately celebrate St. Patrick's Day!

Classic Stripes, a Statement Necklace & Bachelor Gossip

Like most I have Spring Fever already and bad! I'm ready to put away the neutrals, tights and heavy sweaters and opt for bright colors, tassels and lighter layers.

The Bachelor Finale & a Target Sweater

Happy Monday lovelies! What did you do this weekend? My family is part Irish and to celebrate, we had an early St. Patty's Day traditional corn beef and cabbage dinner. Although I'm not a huge fan of cabbage (I am a wicked picky eater) I love any excuse to dress up, celebrate something and most importantly spend time with my family.

How to Style Red Hunter Rain Boots + Q&A

In honor of #tbt (Throw back Thursday) I wanted to share a post from Instagram a few weeks ago and also finally share my Q&A post. It's taken me so long to write this post because I've gotten SO many questions... Just kidding! I hardly got any so today I'm sharing all the ones my friends asked (thanks for being so supportive) or questions I frequently get asked from people in general, like "Who takes all your photos?" and "Do you really get up at 5am to take all these photos and post?" Continue reading to find out all my secrets!

5 things you need to know about wearing Sequins to work

So I LOVE wearing sequins. I mean come on, what's better to a girl that loves fashion then something that sparkles. The key is making them work and age appropriate. I actually hate (sorry strong word, I don't let me students use it so I like to practice what I preach) Let's try this again: I actually can't stand that people think sequins are an age thing, why is that? What says that after we turn 20,  30, or whatever the age limit is that we can no longer wear sequins?! I'm here to tell you you can and you should! Work clothes don't have to be boring.

How to create a delicate spring outfit using a blanket scarf & must-have target jacket

I've mentioned it before, but seriously, I love this blanket scarf. I believe it to be the new "It" scarf.  It has definitely been a go-to of mine this winter. Today's post is all about how to transition blanket scarves into your spring wardrobe. I don't know about you but I always try to get the most of out each item in my closet and therefore I am not ready to part with my blanket scarves yet.

Happy Monday!
Did this weekend fly by for everyone, or just me? I was so excited not to have any set plans earlier in the week, but come Friday and my weekend was all booked up.

How to use one shirt to create two different outfits

Happy Friday-eve lovelies,

I mostly frequently get asked: how big is your closest? My closest is not small but it is by no means as large as many of the bloggers I follow and admire. One of the best tips my mom taught me about buying clothes was to make sure you find something that goes with a lot of things already in your closet. So I always make it a rule to think of at least two outfits the item would go with before buying it, except for this Loft shirt. I actually wasn't sure what or if anything this shirt would go with until I brought it home but so far I have been really pleased with the different outfits I have been able to make using it.

Sock buns & a T-Shirt Dress

So I have a confession to make I own this dress in 5... yes, five colors. I absolutely fell in love with it as soon as I saw this black one hanging at the Banana Republic Outlet and then immediately added two more to my cart after I saw the price tag was $10!  (Similar dress here.) How could I not by all three? Then this past summer they released two more colors, so I obviously picked those up too. They are the truly my favorite go-to dress for spring, summer and fall. Read on to learn more about my favorite essentials for spring!
