Happy Halloween y'all & happy birthday to me! I love this fall look so much because it's seriously a staple of mine. If you haven't already picked up one of these cardigans you NEED too. It's the perfect top to throw on for errands on the weekend and it can be dressed up with a pencil skirt & pumps for a fun twist on the typical #workfashion. Bean boots are such a classic and so practical. They are on every preppy girl's must have's (more on my must have's for fall to come- stay tuned). I also own about ten pairs of these camp socks. They are my FAVORITE socks. I wear them around the house like slippers and also love them with boots. They make for a fun winter look when paired with a short skirt, tights and booties.

Happy Monday! This week is especially exciting for me because I will be attending two full days at a conference all about teaching reading. I know, most people are surprised to learn that there is actually numerous research-based approaches to teaching reading and that these approaches are ever changing & evolving. I think my favorite part of teaching (minus working with the students) is the uncertainty in a sense that comes from every day being different and the curriculum that is always changing, so I never feel like I 'know it all'. As an educator, I am constantly reflecting and eager to learn new things. So for the next two days I will be completely "nerding" (yes, I made an adjective a verb) as I get to be inspired by some of the best educators in the country.

Affordable Fall Dresses for Wedding Guest

With my wedding just two short months away and it being a fall wedding I'm getting asked all the time (literally everyday) "What do I wear to a fall wedding?" 

Obviously, I love to answer this question because I LOVE talking fashion. Over the weekend, I shared on my Instagram stories that it was raining where B & I live, so we took an unexpected adventure to West Hartford Center. While visiting WeHa, we took advantage of the beautiful fall day with lunch on the outdoor patio, ice cream from Milk Craft, and a blog shoot (of course). I'm so beyond lucky that in 40 days I get to marry my best guy; someone who is so supportive and encouraging of me and my dreams. There's not many guys I know that will patiently take photos of my ice cream, then go back and wait in line to get his own #husbandgoals.

Happy fall y'all! October has been un-seasonally warm for New England. And while I'm anxious to bring out my blanket scarves, tights and boots, I'm still really enjoying holding onto summer a little longer. I'm also a little selfishly hoping this warmer weather carries into November. I don't need it to be 70 degrees, but I'd prefer it to be warm enough so guests at our wedding aren't freezing.  For today's look I'm wearing everyone's (seriously, everyone's) favorite fall vest. Maxi dress & Chambray

Happy Columbus Day y'all. This is definitely one of my favorite weekends in the fall, because it comes at the perfect time. We are fully back into the routines at school now, so it is a nice surprise to have an extra day off for some fall activities. Over the weekend, B & I went on our first apple picking adventure of the season. We always have so much fun choosing exactly what apples we each want to pick and then later making homemade apple crisp. On Sunday, I was lucky enough to host my second event with Loft, this time at the Westfarms Mall. It was such a fun day filled with shopping, styling, snacks and more! Thank you to everyone who came out to meet & shop with me. Y'all are truly the best! Today I'm off for a deep conditioning treatment at my hair salon (these are a cheaper alternative to a hair cut and help to keep my long locks healthy) and lastly, I'm hoping I will be able to take some more photos for the blog. Fingers crossed the rain holds off.
