last minute gifts for the guy in your life

This year Christmas is extra special for B and I because it will be our first Christmas as HUSBAND and wife and it will also be one month married! I am so excited and this year wanted to make each gift extra special. In efforts to keep those a secret (since B reads every blog post) I haven't shared any of the gifts I purchased for him this year, but instead shared some B suggested and some of our favorite gifts from the past! I hope you enjoy reading today's post. All items are linked with free shipping and guaranteed delivery for Christmas... what are you waiting for??

Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park, London

While on our honeymoon, I realized I am all about warmth & practicality when it comes to embracing my winter style. I often wear leggings under my jeans and always pair a turtle neck under any tops for an added layer. In today’s look, I have styled yet another jeweled skirt. I truly love anything that glitters or sparkles so I’m frequently treating myself to a new piece of two around the holidays each year. For this look I’ve paired a lot of various pieces but kept them all in the same color scheme of: tan, black and grey to keep the outfit from looking like a mess.

last minute gift guide for the girlie girl in your life

I am so excited about today's post because it is Free Shipping Day! This is a one-day event that guarantees delivery for Christmas and I've got gift ideas for you. I consider myself a total girlie girl so in honor of that today's gift guide is all about last minute gifts for the fashionista in your life!
For the past couple years, actually ever since B came into my life (and my family's life, we had only been together for a few months and B stayed to have Christmas morning with my family and I) we have been following a  guide for our gift giving. We buy and exchange gifts with
4 key categories in mind:
want, wear, read, and need.
So for today's post I have organized my gift ideas for the girlie girl in your life by these four categories. Although, they don't always have to stay in each category. B is really creative with his gifts. For example, he might label winter boots as a need (since we do live in New England and have to shovel) to throw me off.

Peggy’s Porschen: what it is & why you should go!

Peggy’s Porschen coffee shop was by far my one of my favorite experiences during our honeymoon. Visiting this coffee shop was on my bucket list after stalking London on instagram for the past few months. The irony of visiting this coffee shop on our honeymoon is similar to my first date with B, because he doesn't even drink coffee. Anyway, Peggy's Porschen's is just a short walking distance from Buckingham Palace. Changing of the guards take place every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, at 11am. So following the changing of the guards, B & I took a short 10-15 minute walk up the streets of Chelsea to find this quaint bakery. I highly recommend starting in Traflagar square, walking down the mall, which will give you some breath-taking views of Buckingham palace, staying for changing of the guards (get there early if you want to get a good viewing spot) and finish the morning with a coffee break at Peggy’s. The walk alone is a great way to experience some of the true London culture, away from the tourist-y crowds.

afternoon tea in London

Why partake in afternoon tea?

Afternoon tea is one of the BEST experiences I have ever had while in London. It totally makes me feel like I’m living a glamorous lifestyle. In London, there is a distinct difference between ‘afternoon tea’ and ‘high tea.’ Afternoon tea consists of smaller, cold sandwiches, scones, pastries and desserts. High tea consists of a hot meal, scones and desserts. However; the menu is very deceiving “tea sandwiches” do not mean you will still be hungry. B & I actually skipped lunch entirely before afternoon tea and we still left full & with pastries left over.
