Happy fall y'all! October has been un-seasonally warm for New England. And while I'm anxious to bring out my blanket scarves, tights and boots, I'm still really enjoying holding onto summer a little longer. I'm also a little selfishly hoping this warmer weather carries into November. I don't need it to be 70 degrees, but I'd prefer it to be warm enough so guests at our wedding aren't freezing. For today's look I'm wearing everyone's (seriously, everyone's) favorite fall vest. I'm obsessed with J. Crew and J. Crew factory vests. These vests are perfect for transitioning outfits and adding extra warmth without bulk. They are truly a staple in my fall wardrobe. Confession time: I already own four and plan to add one more to my collection this year. Every year this patterned vest floods instagram and pinterest accounts and it always sells out. Be sure to pick yours up now, while it's on sale (only $44). PS: You can support my blog by purchasing this vest through the "shop the post" links. Shop the post
Happy Columbus Day y'all. This is definitely one of my favorite weekends in the fall, because it comes at the perfect time. We are fully back into the routines at school now, so it is a nice surprise to have an extra day off for some fall activities. Over the weekend, B & I went on our first apple picking adventure of the season. We always have so much fun choosing exactly what apples we each want to pick and then later making homemade apple crisp. On Sunday, I was lucky enough to host my second event with Loft, this time at the Westfarms Mall. It was such a fun day filled with shopping, styling, snacks and more! Thank you to everyone who came out to meet & shop with me. Y'all are truly the best! Today I'm off for a deep conditioning treatment at my hair salon (these are a cheaper alternative to a hair cut and help to keep my long locks healthy) and lastly, I'm hoping I will be able to take some more photos for the blog. Fingers crossed the rain holds off. Shop the look:
I first started blogging as a way to channel my inner love
of fashion. I was so nervous at first I couldn’t even tell my friends and
family. And NOW… I’m on the target website, someone pinch me, SERIOUSLY. Is this real life?! I’m on a clothing
website, sharing something I love because of all of YOU! So let me start today’s post by saying thank
you for all the endless support & encouragement y’all provide that
help motivate me and make Roses and Rain Boots a success!
This outfit was a staple of mine this summer,
especially during our vacation to Ogunquit, Maine. For starters, it doesn’t
take up a lot of room in my suitcase and both the tank and shorts can be paired
with different pieces to create new outfits. Currently, my exact tank is on
sale for only $12 in all colors! These tanks are perfect for layering with a cardigan and skirt for work. Now is the perfect time to stock up for fall. Speaking off fall, pictured is my new favorite nail polish color: Swept off my feet. It is the perfect shade of red meets burgundy. *Also on sale are my shorts and a similar pair of TB sandals all linked below! Happy Shopping!!
Work doesn't have to mean boring. I love fashion because it's a way of expressing myself and my creativity. I love finding great closet staples, like this skirt from Loft, that easily makes a statement. Some of my quick and easy tips for keeping my outfits professional are: First, put outfits together that match- I love colorful outfits and matching helps to keep the outfit looking put together. Secondly, keep it modest. Being tall, it can be a challenge to find skirts or dresses that are long enough, so I am conscious to keep my shirts modest. To keep this outfit modest pair it with a denim jacket or black cardigan. Shop today's look:
