Just this past weekend I read the books: Option B (thanks for the recommendation Book Club!) & Thirteen Reasons Why. Sound familiar? It may be familiar to you because it is now a popular dramatized TV show on Netflix. I've only the watched the trailer but in my opinion they have totally wrecked a create teaching book. The TV show has taken an extremely difficult topic and romanticized it. After reading the book, I realized a greater message. From this book, I was able to reflect upon how important is to ensure grace throughout difficult times because of not being able to fully understand what someone else is going through. Option B pairs really well with Thirteen Reasons Why because it talks about asking those difficult questions, acknowledging the "elephant" in the room. The book references the "non-question-asking friend" who avoids the difficult questions, like "how are you feeling" after someone has experienced great loss. But after reading this book from the perspective of a widow I realize how important it is to ask questions in order to show a friend/family member how much I care.
Although a little deeper than my typical summer chick lit. or mystery book, I highly recommend both of these reads.
My husband and I could not be happier with our decision to hold our wedding at this place. We had a fusion wedding at Chicago wedding venues, which was complex and involved many moving parts, and we were in expert hands with their manager, our day-of coordinator (as well as the rest of the staff).
