coffee hour with Lo

exact denim jacket // similar sweater here & here // exact jeans // exact sandals

Good morning! Another week, another Monday.
I'm looking forward to the end of this week already because my grad school classes will be done for the semester & I will be able to get back into my normal routines. I'm also debating about a summer job... WHAT, I know. Who am I?

It's also looking like we will finally have some spring weather today! It's about time.

Did you catch the Kentucky Derby this weekend? It was so good. For the first time in Derby history, they disqualified the winning horse and the runner up was crowned first. I was surprised to see how quickly they made the deliberation to determine the results. However; I have since heard that the determination will be challenged... this surprise drama definitely made it a bit more interesting and dragged out the event a little longer! There is so much hype for one two- minute race. I wish they included a few more pre-races to the event.

Since we are officially into a new month & spring I wanted to share a quick update about things I'm currently loving & things I'm currently crushing on.

Things I'm currently loving:

I'm loving Hourglass Blushes! I recently picked up these blushes to try during the Sephora sale, which ends tonight. These blushes have such a light buildable look to them. I also appreciate that they have a shimmer instead of glitter.

GiGi New York Crossbody Bag, which I was generously gifted before our trip to SC and found it was the perfect bag for our 7-day trip. Such a classic color, this bag was ideal for transitioning to warmer weather and lighter layers. Plus you can add a monogram, making it such a great gift idea for mom for Mother's Day. I am seriously obsessed. It is my go-to bag for Spring!

Denim jackets, light wash. I think I have officially found the most perfect light wash denim fit. I sized up from size to 2 to a 4 for a slightly more relaxed fit and I'm obsessed. There's room for layers underneath but still looks great paired with dresses or skirts. It also sits at the same waist height in the back. I've been finding a  lot of denim jackets that are cropped in the back and at 5'9" I want the length. Speaking of, the sleeves also fit full length or look great rolled.

Nashville, the tv show. I am SO late to this series. B & I just started watching it the other night and it's cute! I had to take a break from This Is Us, that show was just too sad and I miss watching the Hart of Dixie.

Brave, not Perfect. Have you heard of this book? I actually received it at a PD the other day and was so excited to dive into it. A quick read, it talks about the way society actually encourages males to take risks and gives them praise throughout the process, versus females who are encouraged to pursue things they are already good at, instead of encouraging them to take risks and accept the failure is natural.

Things I'm currently crushing on:

Flatform Sandals. Y'all I am seeing this trend everywhere and I love them. They look like the perfect sandal for work. They are definitely a different style for me, but these are one of those trends that if I don't jump on board with, I'll regret it. These sandals are going fast, so be sure to get yours now. Linking a few options at different price points.

Everlane. I just discovered this brand and am crushing on their everyday basics. These are the foundational items for building that spring capsule wardrobe. I'm always looking for great pieces at affordable costs that are made to last.

Fresh Flower Bar. As a fan of shopping local, I'm excited to share this next find. Fresh Flower Bar is a flower delivery shop that delivers locally along the CT coastline. Sarah, the girl behind FFB, also offers some Blossoms and Bubbles workshops, where you get to sip and socialize while learning how to make your own arrangements. Plus she has the cutest packaging!

Colby Davis of Boston. Another local business, this brand is founded by a mother-daughter trio. The charms represent all things Nautical and are completely buildable and customizable, you choose the chain and charms that match your style. Plus all the circle charms, like the sand dollar pictured come with an engraved quote on the back. My heart is in the sands.

Hair Accessories, in general. I'm loving any and all hair accessories. These are such an easy way to dress up a look. Whether it be, hair clips, headbands, scarves, etc. they instantly elevate any look.
