Hello everyone & welcome back to the blog!

I can't believe we are already in 2020. Where did the time go? As we move into a New Year, I thought it was time I shared my resolutions. I'm not one to make "big" resolutions because I find huge life changes are always difficult to achieve, and then I feel discouraged if I slip-up once, and feel the whole process is ruined. Instead, I wanted to pick something that would be achievable.

Last year, I had high hopes of reading 52 books in the year. While I wasn't able to achieve this goal, it's something I want to continue. I want reading to be a priority in my life. In a world where we are so consumed by technology, I want to make room for some quiet time to continue my love of reading. I'm also happy to report that I have successfully completed my first read of 2020 and am started my second read last night. If you are wondering what's on my current reading list, check out this post here.

Additionally, I want to continue to keep my car clean.
I've started to create a new habit, where I don't leave "things" in my car. Every day when I arrive home from work, I make a conscious effort to clear out the car, which may mean I'm bringing too many things to work if I have to make multiple trips. But so far, this has been a successful and positive change as a result of my New Year's resolution. Now, for 2020, I want to create a positive morning routine. Since starting my job at the middle school, which has an earlier start time, I've struggled with finding a routine that works, so that is one of my main resolutions/goals for 2020.

Finally, my last resolution focuses' on a single word, intentional, to help focus my year 2020. I felt this word encompassed all the things I was hoping for. To be more intentional with purchases, to not be tempted to buy something just because it's one click away. To also be more intentional with my time. I want to avoid getting lost in the social media hole, of just scrolling and be intentional when I am on the apps. All in all, I think being more intentional will help simplify my life and add purpose and value to the things I choose to do!

I'm excited about this new year. I can already feel that this year is going to be special. Over the weekend, I started to create my vision board. I'm really focusing on surrounding myself with all things positive and centered around what I am going to accomplish this year. I've got some big plans for myself this year and I'm excited to take y'all along for the adventure. What is your New Year's Resolution(s)? And, what are some of the things you do to make your resolutions stick?

To help kick start the year off by being more intentional, I'm excited to share an outfit that came from "old" pieces in my closet. I have had this sweater for years. It's SO good, that I actually own it in six colors. It's great as a stand alone & also great for layering. This sweater was not something I usually reached for when creating outfits for the blog, because it's not "new" but that's life. Most of my day-to-day wardrobe is a combination of old pieces mixed together in a new way to create a new look. I also pulled out my old TB bag, that I bought for myself right after a tough breakup when I was living alone for the first time. It was one of those moments that was like you're doing this! Treat yourself. I'm also excited to announce that structured bags and shoulder bags are making a big come-back for 2020! Get ready.
