Stripes + Floral Print = Pattern Mixing

I can't believe we had snow yesterday! Just the other day it was 60 degrees, but like I said yesterday that is spring in New England for ya. As a result, vests, booties and pattern mixing are on my fashion forecast.

Today's outfit is one of those ideas that looks great in your mind, but you aren't really sure how it's going to look on. And that's why taking those risks are so important because in the end my idea worked. The final piece is a work appropriate, comfortable and chic look that combines some of my favorite pieces. I love this outfit. It might be one of my new favorites it was another that was inspired my co-workers outfit a few weeks back. She wore a grey striped shirt (going to order this- it's too cute to pass up and on sale for $20), with a grey sweater and grey printed scarf. For starters I love the way she parked grey with grey! I never would have before seeing it on her. I also loved the way she incorporated a different pattern by keeping it in the same color scheme. That's why I picked this floral skirt it has so many great neutrals mixed within it. This skirt was actually a great starting point for pattern mixing because it has a lot of neutral colors in it ( I've linked this year's version at Loft and this super cute one too!)

I then paired this outfit with a brown sheer tight because I love the polished look it gives for the office environment. I was excited because they also helped pull the look together so I could add these Aldo booties. I am not ready to part with my boots just yet.  (I've also linked these adorable Stuart Weitzman booties that are under $150 and peep-toe, SO CUTE. )They are such a staple and easy way to wear those spring pieces you've been dying to wear while still keep you warm. I actually own two pairs of Aldo booties and have been so impressed with the quality. I don't worry about when I wear them because they with stand all types of wear and tear.

Lastly, I have no idea what to watch on Monday's now. I'm thinking of getting caught up on the Voice. Have you ever watched it? Did you watch last season's winner Jordan? Oh my goodness he is amazing in case you missed it below is a quick video of his blind audition. I think it was in this moment everyone knew he deserved to win.
My parents first got me hooked on the first season of the voice and by the live shows, even my friends were coming over to watch it. In the end, I don't think it's the show that matters but the company you keep. I love any excuse to hang out with my family and friends for a night full of laughter, snacks and a glass of wine or two ;)
