SCSpringStyle: Pattern Mixing

I am actually sad that today is Wednesday because that means there is only two more days of the #SCSpringStyle challenge! I have really enjoyed seeing everyone's fabulous outfits. The way everyone can interpret a theme such as: Pattern mixing or Pantone colors and make it completely reflect their own personality and style is my FAVORITE thing about fashion. People always say "I blog as a creative outlet" but the more I blog and connect with other bloggers I really understand how your style reflects the person you are. Can you tell what type of person I am?! Girlie? Check. Feminine? Check. Happy?! Check.

I have a thing for stripes that is for certain. The other day I was trying to go through my spring cleaning because I was in my "I have nothing to wear, I am sick of all my clothes" mood and I could not get rid of any of my striped shirts. Even though I must have at least 5 versions of a black and white striped shirt, but they are all different so obviously they all must stay.
I am obsessed with this midi skirt. It was one of those items I saw on Pinterest and HAD to have. You can bet this will be on the blog again throughout the spring and summer. It is so fun and classy. As I have gotten older and begun working as a teacher I realized how important it was to me to look classy and stylish. Midi skirts are definitely a trend here to stay and I am completely on board! They are one of those styles that I assure you look amazing on everyone. They are so feminine and can be dressed up or down.
Also on repeat: NUDE heels  for the win! This bag will also be on repeat this week too because both are classics and must haves. I was actually so excited about this find, back in college. Francesca's is always a go-to for a cute accessory or item you need in a hurry and are looking to update a classic look. This clutch also comes with a strap so it can be used as a cross-body bag, so it can easily go from a chic date night to hands free for after dinner drinks with friends.
Lastly, to get to the challenge this was a bit of a risk for me. I love pattern mixing but usually it is with very subtle and neutral colors. Because there was the light blue in the shirt and I could pull the green in with the clutch I figured I would give it a go! In the words of, Eleanor Roosevelt "Well behaved women rarely make history." And I believe the same is true for fashion, people who don't take risks never have the chance create new and exciting looks. I can't wait to hear what y'all think of today's look!
Lastly, I had to share this picture because I was getting honked at  for standing in the middle of the road, but don't they understand I am trying to get a good shot for the blog?!

  7. I love this outfit, can we switch closets? Pattern mixing is such a great statement when done properly, and you killed it. Also, nude heels are life's blood. The length of that skirt looks so good on you, but I am a shorty, and it would look like a maxi on me, haha.

  8. lo--loving these photos babe! pattern mixing is NOT easy. i haven't even done a real post on pattern mixing. the hardest thing to do is pattern mix a top AND bottom like you have done here. pattern mixing with a small accessory such a clutch is easy. but this ain't. so props to you. i think you pulled it off very well, the colors and patterns. PS--midi skirts and nude heels are my JAM. xoxo,
