How to Tie a Blanket Scarf

Today I'm featuring an easy step by step tutorial on how to tie a blanket scarf. I wear blanket scarves almost 24/7 during the winter season. I actually have to dedicate part of my closet just to have room to hang my scarf collection, which is probably one of the only downfalls to owning a blanket scarf. Since blanket scarves are rather large, they take up a lot of space. However; if that's the only con then  I think I will live. Besides being practical and serving the purpose to keep me warm, they are so stylish and offer affordable ways to changing up a classic winter look.

First, I start with a large square scarf (this is important and essential for folding & styling your scarf for today's look). Then, I fold the scarf in half by matching the opposite corners to create a triangle. I like to twist the ends a little bit, to take out some of the volume in the scarf. Next, I cross the sides over one another and pull them around front. Lastly, I tuck and fold the scarf to my liking. This last step is crucial because I want to be sure to tuck the scarf away from my face so it doesn't look like I'm being swallowed by the scarf.

Because blanket scarves are larger than typical scarves, I often will wear my hair in a low ponytail. Wearing my hair in a ponytail help to prevent my hair from knotting, which frequently happens when I wear blanket scarves. This hair style also helps to minimize any bulk around my face that can be created if I were to wear my hair down.

Hope you enjoyed today's tutorial & have a great day!
xx, Lo
