For fall and moving into winter, I am loving textures. I'm even having fun combining textures like this suede & suede combo. I also love this love because it's made up of classic items. But they are SO worth the money. They are the perfect heel height. I spent 4 days in NYC for a work trip and only packed these boots, and I managed just fine!

Over the weekend and for the beginning part of the week, I was at a work conference for a few days all about book clubs. It was such a great workshop! The presenters are really intense and require all attendees to be active participants. Each participant was given a YA book and immediately became part of that book club. It was such a great experience to actually do the work we expect our students to do. I struggled with marking up my novel. I often like quotes from books and write them down but I consider myself more of a "plot junkie." I purely read the book to find out what's happening next. It was a new experience for me to not only track the plot, but the role the protagonist plays in the historical conflict that was taking place. And once I got over my discomfort, I really saw the value in creating my own system to mark up my books. This is definitely a technique I want to try more of. I definitely think it will help me to read more deeply.
