affordable work wear

By now, most of you know that I work full time in a middle school. You also know that my style is pretty modest and classic. I love pieces that will last from season to season, with the occasional trendy piece mixed in. I also enjoy dressing up for work. I don't always love the price tag since some of these items are strictly for work. However, I've been working harder to buy pieces that work for both work & weekend casual.

Shop:

blazer // dress pants // cami
shoes // necklaces similar diamondhorn // similar earrings

I love this look because it's the perfect combo of traditional meets modern. Dress pants  are such a closet staple, but usually, I don't like them because the fits aren't flattering. I've found this year I love the ankle length. I think the cut is extremely flattering, and the best part is, they were only $34. Once you've found your perfect pair, don't be afraid to stock up! I purchased another print in this style, knowing that these are a pair of pants I can quickly grab for work and feel great.

Another favorite about this look is of the course the blazer! I love that blazers are on-trend right now. And I picked this one after some extensive searching because of the longer length, and it's a great price. This style is EXTREMELY flattering. It sits just below your hips to elongate and not harshly create contrast at the waist. This is another affordable piece that will last from season to season.

Lastly, I paired it with my dress pants & blazer, with a chic cami  from Abercrombie. I size up one in all of my Abercrombie pieces, as they run a tad snug. And finally, I completed the look with my favorite heels from the target. Again, I loved these heels so much; I purchased three colors. They are comfortable enough that I can wear them all day without my feet getting tired, and they are affordable that I don't worry about them staying in perfect condition. If the heel isn't for you, they offer a shorter option here. Also, if you live in New England, then you know the struggle with the weather these past few weeks. If you are worried about being chilly, I swap my open-toed sandals for these wedges, also love the suede version here. I'm excited to share that two of my co-workers purchased these from the blog, and both LOVE them and wear them all the time!

So tell me, are you team Fall or team Christmas?
There seems to be a lot of pressure this year to bring out all the Christmas decor already, and I'm just not there yet. I look forward to Thanksgiving every year and try to stay true to the current season. However, after a quick poll on Instagram, it's obvious a lot of you are already doing your shopping. So, starting this weekend, I will be starting to share my gift guides hopefully later and starting to get that decor out ASAP, as I want to be your #1 resource this holiday season. If there are some stores you wish to see reviews on, be sure to send me a message so I can get on that!
