Happy new year! 

First off, thank you SO much for being here. If you were here last year, I'm so grateful we were able to walk through 2020 together. If you are new here, welcome! I'm so glad you are here.

2020 was particularly challenging for all of us in ways that we never expected. In my professional life, I was and continue to be challenged with how to engaged my students in their learning from home and digitally. We stayed home more than ever. And for my family, we suffered some unexpected losses. 

As a result, instead of opting for a new year as a way to "redefine" or "change" I'm taking the approach to be really happy with who I am right now. That doesn't mean I won't be trying to continue to grow and evolve, but I'm going to give myself some grace along the way and I hope you all will too.

Last year I picked a word to kind of "influence" my year. I picked: intentional. 

I chose intentional because I felt like I was constantly running out of time to do things and I wanted to be more thoughtful about purchases. These are all things I'm currently still working on, so for that reason I will be keeping intentional and adding grace to my words for 2021.
