Where to stay in London

For our honeymoon B and I choose to experience London at Christmastime together! This was going to be B's first time in Europe, let alone London, and I wanted our stay to be exceptional, and I knew just the place.

The Montague on the Gardens Hotel.

The Montague on the Gardens hotel is as stunning and breathtaking as the name. It's full of old English charm and outstanding service. Located in the heart of Bloomsbury, part of the West End, this area is known to be a fashionable residential area. Staying at The Montague gives the feel of luxury and being a real Londoner, not the typical tourist.

Upon arriving, you are greeted with the best hospitality around. The hotel has a doorman dressed to the nine who greets everyone at the door! They make it a point to know all their guests, so one can always feel welcome and safe. All the employees are so helpful. We utilized the concierge to help recommend a show to see, and they also helped us secure tickets, and the recommendation did not disappoint.

The rooms at The Montague are exquisite. Each room is uniquely decorated. They also have a variety of rooms to fit everyone's needs.  Despite being in Central London, the rooms are quiet, free from  city noise, ensuring a good nights rest free from jet lag.

While staying at The Montague, one can take advantage of a traditional English breakfast in the front restaurant. The Montague also has two additional seating areas and an outside garden for afternoon tea or a delicious dinner. In fact, they are most known for their "al fresco" or outdoor dining experience. Even when visiting during the winter time, the outdoor experience is turned into a winter wonderland/ski lodge, see photo below for example. I'm hoping on our next trip abroad it will be warm enough that we can take advantage of a different experience.

Later on in the evening, the hotel lounge usually has musical entertainment as well. B and I loved the environment of the hotel that we ended up having a before or after-dinner drink in the hotel nightly.

Located just blocks away from the British Museum, The Montague is tucked in a quiet neighborhood of Bloomsbury. Additionally, the hotel abuts two quaint English gardens, Russell Square and Bloomsbury Square Garden, and is just blocks away from two tube stops.
